Matthew Rowland is an Actor and Creative from South East London. Most recently he played Mr Wormwood in the RSC's Matilda the Musical, International Tour. He is represented by Caitlin Rae Boyle at InterTalent Group.

Currently Matthew is Assistant Director and Choreographer for the UK Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat produced by Michael Harrison.

Matthew graduated from ArtsEd in 2012 and has since played the lead role of Boy George in the Musical Taboo in Brixton and New York, appeared in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, J
oseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Waitress in London's West End and toured Internationally with Cats the Musical. Matthew played the role of Ned Schneebly in the first UK and Ireland tour of School of Rock. Most recently, Matthew played the role of Gordon Shakespeare in Debbie Isitt's Nativity the Musical at Birmingham Rep.

Matthew choreographed the London transfer of Sondheim's Putting It Together at the St James Theatre starring David Bedella, Daniel Crossley, Janie Dee, Damian Humbley and Caroline Sheen.  Critically well received, the show gained a 5 star review from The Times. In March 2023, Matthew choreographed Gypsy the Musical at Bird College, Sidcup.

Whilst performing in Charlie, Matthew worked as the Children's Director and was part of the process of putting numerous children into the show and maintaining their performances throughout the run. 

In 2016 Matthew founded Vibe Arts Theatre School with Alex Turney.
